Single-Sex Education

If you are a part of the Caldwell/ West Caldwell public school system, you have always been raised in a co-education enviornment. Most, if not all, are satisfied with this. I for one was one of these people, up until I started researching the debate of single-sex schooling vs. that of our traditional co-ed. I was extremely surprised to see how many benefits single-sex schooling offers. In addition to the higher standardized test scores students recieve, they can develop confidence and get exposed to different aspects in their education which co-ed schools hinder. Also, because boys and girls develop differently from eachother, they are given the chance to be taught differently as well. Teachers can alter their teaching methods so that they can better help the students of their specific gender. When students are separated, they can concentrate more on their studies rather than social pressures and distractions. Also, as proof, many successful people are products of a single-sex education. When presented with all of the data, it's difficult to not see the extreme benefits that a single-sex education offers.
